Foundation
Higherlife Foundation is a private foundation grounded in Christian values and guided by a belief in the transformative power of education, health, and thriving communities.
Founded in 1996 by Tsitsi and Strive Masiyiwa during Zimbabwe’s HIV/AIDS epidemic, the foundation was established with a clear purpose: to uplift the most vulnerable and help spark hope where it was needed most.
Today, that spark has grown into a movement. With investments across several African countries, Higherlife Foundation stands as a catalyst for progress – working to nurture potential, expand opportunity, and build pathways out of poverty.
From scholarships that unlock doors for young minds, to healthcare solutions that protect mothers and children, to climate-smart farming initiatives that strengthen rural livelihoods – our work delivers bold action and tangible results.

What we do
Over the past 30 years, Higherlife Foundation has supported more than 400,000 learners -from early childhood to doctoral studies. Through targeted scholarships, digital learning, and leadership development, we expand access, promote equity, and strengthen outcomes across every stage of learning.
From maternal care that ensures safe births and healthy families to community-led efforts that eliminate preventable diseases, Higherlife Foundation works to expand access, promote equity, and improve health outcomes for Zimbabwe’s most vulnerable communities.
At Higherlife Foundation, we invest in livelihoods that move communities from dependence to self-reliance. Our programmes strengthen food systems, build institutional resilience, and equip people with the skills and resources to thrive in changing climates.
At Higherlife Foundation, we build the systems, infrastructure, and local capacity needed to anticipate, withstand, and recover from crises.
At Higherlife Foundation, we work to protect, modernise, and celebrate the nation’s cultural heritage so that museums, galleries, and monuments remain vibrant spaces of learning, pride, and inspiration.

Location Details
We operate across multiple countries, focusing our efforts where the need is greatest. With teams on the ground, we’re able to support communities through local offices, schools, and health centres.
