Global Health
Health restores dignity and unlocks the potential within every person, family, and community.
When people are well, they have the freedom and strength to learn, work, and create the futures they imagine for themselves.
From maternal care that ensures safe births and healthy families to community-led efforts that eliminate preventable diseases, Higherlife Foundation works to expand access, promote equity, and improve health outcomes for Zimbabwe’s most vulnerable communities.

Healthcare Development
We believe that health is a matter of dignity and justice.
Our Work
Maternal &
Neonatal Health
Every person deserves access to compassionate, quality care that allows them to live fully and contribute to their community.
We invest in maternal and neonatal health to ensure every birth is safe and every mother has the care she deserves.

By training health workers, supplying essential equipment, and supporting referral hospitals that handle the country’s most complex pregnancies, we’re improving diagnosis, treatment, and quality of care. Since 2021, we’ve trained over 6,000 health professionals, placed more than 1,800 critical-care tools, and helped reduce maternal and neonatal deaths by up to 65% in targeted facilities.
Our Impact on Global Health:

Neglected Tropical Diseases
Our Commitment
Cholera
Elimination
We are leading efforts to end cholera in Zimbabwe by 2028.
Through the Cholera Elimination Secretariat, established with the Government of Zimbabwe, we coordinate national and local partners under a 10-Year Roadmap to stop outbreaks for good.
Our work has reached over 2 million people with safe water, sanitation, and vaccines. Building a future where every family is protected and every community can thrive free from cholera.
Maternal
Neonatal Health
Saving lives by strengthening maternal and newborn care.
Across sub-Saharan Africa, more than 400 mothers die for every 100,000 live births. Nearly five times the global average. These deaths are largely preventable when health workers have the right tools, training, and support to provide timely, quality care.
Neglected
Tropical Diseases (NTDs)
Fighting preventable diseases to build healthier communities.
Neglected tropical diseases affect over one billion people globally, trapping families in cycles of poor health and poverty.
In Zimbabwe, diseases like schistosomiasis (bilharzia), soil-transmitted helminths (intestinal worms), and lymphatic filariasis (elephantiasis) affect both adults and children, but children bear the greatest burden. Repeated infections can keep them out of school, hinder learning, and limit their future opportunities.
Cholera
Elimination
Ending cholera for good and safeguarding lives across Zimbabwe.
Cholera remains one of Zimbabwe’s most persistent public-health threats. Between 2018 and 2024, the country recorded around 45,000 suspected cases and close to 800 deaths.
Recurring outbreaks show the urgent need for coordinated, sustainable solutions that go beyond emergency response.
